"Can America's Blackest state go Blue?" (AJ+, 2021)
When Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossof both made historic runs to the Georgia Senate, it prompted many to ask how? How did a state that had long been a Republican stronghold—tk—help deliver a historic victory for the democrats. The answer to the "how" question typically began with the work of Stacy Abrams and an expansive network of Black women organizers long doing work across Georgia.

Not longer at the "how" question, some folks started asking "could," as in could other states that had long been red, turn blue?
AJ+ recently turned that question toward Mississippi, "the blackest state." To answer, they talked with the mayor of Jackson (Mississippi's capital city) and other stakeholders and organizers from across the state—including me.
